Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
The above prayer was penned by Thomas Cranmer almost 500 years ago. These words communicate the power of God’s Word for both the mind and the heart. It is by reading, marking, learning, and inwardly digesting that we come to embrace and hold fast to the hope that we have in Christ.
We’re excited to announce that on January 30th, we’ll be introducing a mid-week Bible study, designed to help us become better students of the Bible and more faithful followers of Jesus. In this 13-week inductive Bible study, we’ll dig into the ever relevant book of 1 Peter and learn what it means to live as elect exiles in this world (1 Peter 1:1). We hope you’ll consider coming and enlarging your heart with the living hope that’s proclaimed to us in God’s written Word.
Location: Bristol Art Museum (10 Wardwell Street)
Time: Wednesdays at 7pm
