Read Through the Bible in 2025-2026

The new year often brings new resolutions. Many Christians resolve to read through the Bible. Yet, many hit roadblocks in the form of kosher food laws, nazarite vows, and priestly garments. The strangeness of Scripture soon leads to dissonance in our daily lives. Not to mention hurried mornings and crammed schedules, the resolve to read through the Bible often falls by the wayside. Though we know that ALL Scripture is breathed out by God and is profitable (2Tim.3:16), there are two issues that often eat away at our endurance: unrealistic reading plans and isolated reading habits. We often bite off more than we can chew and we try to do it alone. No wonder our resolve quickly fades!
We're excited to invite all of Mount Hope Church into the awesome adventure of reading through the Bible over the course of 2025-2026! If you’ve already read all the way through the Bible, you've undoubtedly discovered much treasure in your readings. Yet, the Bible's treasure is inexhaustible! We invite you to read it again, and this time experience the joy in reading the same passages each day together with your church family.
If you’ve never read all the way through the Bible, please join us for the first time. You might think you could never do it. But you can. With two years, you have a manageable pace (and built into this plan are ‘catch-up days’ to help you get back on track if you fall off the pace). With a group of Christian friends doing it together, you have encouragement to keep going. We're praying that spouses will read through the Bible together, that parents and children will talk about what they’ve read each day, that small groups will meet up to share their questions and insights. And that we'll experience the joy of growing together as we savor the living God revealed to us in Scripture.
This year, I hope you will resolve to hide God's word in your heart (Psa.119:11). I hope you'll resolve to be like the blessed person who meditates on Scripture and flourishes as a result (Psa.1). I hope you'll resolve to know and enjoy your God by knowing and enjoying His words (Jer.9:23-24).
What's also exciting is that churches across New England will be doing this plan with us! In partnership with Small Town Summits, we'll be joining many other churches in the same reading plan as we ponder and pray in response. May the Lord bring revival across the New England region as His people root themselves deeper into His word.
- The attached reading plan is designed for a double-sided print on Legal-sized paper (8.5"x14").
- Have no fear! We'll be handing out copies of this reading plan on light card stock at the upcoming Sunday service. Grab a copy, and join us in this spiritually enriching initiative.
