Good Friday: Boasting in the Cross

"But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Galatians 6:14a)
Why is "Good Friday" Good Friday? Because it confronts our supposed goodness with the goodness of God. As we stand beneath the crucified Jesus, all pretensions are shattered. This is how bad our plight actually is - our salvation requires a sacrifice. It also reveals how good our Savior is - God saves guilty sinners through the sacrifice of Himself. "Amazing pity, grace unknown, and love beyond degree!"
The cross ends our boasting in ourselves, and amplifies our boasting in Christ. On Good Friday, we'll gather to boast together in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. One of the unique ways we will boast in the cross will be through acapella singing - to bring voices together in loud, heart-felt praise of our Savior.
Join us for an evening of gospel readings, reflections, special music, and singing on April 3rd at 6:30pm.
