The most important thing about a church community is what that church believes. Since the beginning of the New Testament Church, Christians have devoted themselves to the summary teaching of God’s Word in the forms of creeds and confessions (Acts 2:42; 1 Cor. 15:1-3). Truth is not something we create, but something we receive. Upon our reception of God’s truth, we are called to submit and live in accordance with that truth (James 1:22).

  • The Bible is God’s Word
  • There is One God in Three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  • All men and women stand guilty before God because of our sin and waywardness
  • We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone
  • We must be “born again” through the Holy Spirit’s work
  • We are saved through faith alone, but not a faith that is alone (real faith results in good works)
  • God chose us before we chose Him
  • We are called to grow in grace and pursue holiness
  • We must endure in our faith until the end
  • God’s Law is holy, just, and good
  •  The local church is made up of baptized believers who commit and submit to one another
  • We enter the church through baptism, and continue in the faith by taking the Lord’s Supper
  • Sunday is the Lord’s Day, set apart for the worship of Jesus as our God and King
  • Government is a good gift from God; yet Jesus is King, and must receive our highest allegiance
  • Marriage, Family, and Singleness are all gifts to be lived out according to God’s good design
  • Eternal judgment or eternal reward awaits every man and woman
  • Jesus will return to usher in a new creation and bring eternal joy to His people
