One of the first topics we pray for at our Sunday evening service is the word ministry of our church. Why? We believe that the Scriptures are essential to everything we do. Our church is built upon Christ and His word. When God’s word is center, it communicates something about us: the power of salvation and the building up of Christ’s church is dependent not upon us, but God. Paul, in 1 Tim. 3:15-16, gives a similar proclamation to Timothy “…continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know those who taught you, and you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
We want to continue to be a church that is word-centered. One of the ways we can do this is by reading the Scriptures together. This One-to-One Bible Reading class will equip us with the necessary tools of “…training in righteousness, so that we may be complete, equipped for every good work.” Whether you are a new Christian, or a seasoned one, these four sessions will enable you to study the Bible with others and experience the blessing of being mutually built up in the faith.
*Each participant will receive a free copy of the One-to-One Bible Reading book.
We hope that you’ll join us starting Sept. 4th at 7:00pm at the Bristol Art Museum (10 Wardwell St.).
